Parent Orientation!
The subsequent three group sessions will resume on August 16th (session 2), August 23rd (session 3) and finish up on August 30th (session 4).
The parent orientation and subsequent groups are a critical piece of your loved one's recovery. Evidence-based studies have shown an overwhelmingly higher success rate with clients whose parents are involved in their recovery, compared to clients without parent involvement.
What we will cover:
- Introduction to the clinic
- The developing young adult brain and alcohol/other drug (AOD) effects
- The science of addiction
- Parenting styles
- How to get what you want: effective communication
- Research-based parent strategies for assisting young people in the AOD use change process
- How to respond to continued AOD use
- How to respond to safety concerns
A payment of $200 is due at the first session, per person. This covers the initial orientation and three group sessions for the next three weeks following the initial orientation. For questions, please call Scott Caldwell, MA, CSAC @ 608-221-1500 ext. 37.
Unfortunately, this is not billable to insurance and payment options are Cash/Check/Visa/MC/Discover Card.
